why CAREGIVERS?

How can Occupational Therapy help?

Occupational therapists work with people in various age groups with different conditions and create personalized care plans to accommodate their physical, social, cognitive as well as environmental needs. An occupational therapist may advise on topics such as physical exercises to do to prevent disability and restore function to money management and self-care routines.

Benefits of Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapists provide a holistic approach in their personalised care plans. Children with developmental delays may need early intervention through occupational therapy to learn how to perform everyday activities as well as acquire social skills to navigate social settings. Meanwhile, parents will also gain insight on how best to care for their children's needs, especially if environmental modifications are required.

Seniors whose illness or physical disabilities may have made them lose confidence in performing daily activities. Elderly care Singapore will help them regain independence through occupational and physical therapy. Besides exercises that help build up muscle strength and improve coordination, our therapists may also provide advice on assistive devices that can help with their mobility.

Should I prepare anything for my occupational therapy session?

Although there are no preparations necessary, it would be helpful for our occupational therapists to have information regarding your condition to prepare a treatment plan. Doctor referrals or previous medical reports will provide insight to your care provider on the proper care and treatment based on your needs.

How long does an occupational therapy session take?

One hour or 60 minutes are allotted for each occupational therapy session.

How many occupational therapy sessions will I need?

A care plan depends on the care recipient’s recovery journey which is different for each person.  Occupational Therapists are trained to take all factors of your recovery in the care plan at their initial assessment, including which treatment is appropriate for you as well as the frequency of each session.

What should I expect during my first occupational therapy session?

To properly advise a personalized care plan,  our occupational therapists will conduct an initial assessment that will cover your goals, your current health and physical condition as well as your home environment and any home modifications that might be necessary for your care.
